A word of note... I have one of these that I bought in a pawn shop new (it had not been installed yet) for $40 bucks (ya, the 250.00 one, can you believe it?). I think they did not know the value of what they had. It is a very sensitive instrument, and is supported by good PC software and flash-upgradable firmware. The Pro model stores ~1 hr of driving statistics in non-volatile RAM. Here is a link for the manufacturer's website:

Note that you might not be able to mount the detector exactly where or at the angle you want to. It needs to remain very level unless you get real creative with the Dynamomoter calibration.
