What's This Sound?
 

It usually happens when i turn on the engine or turn it off, but it's not consistent. It's happened a few times when lock/unlock with the keyfob. Someone told me it's my SRI but I haven't heard it before.

thanks :) so all cai/sri's make that sound? I've never heard it before. I wasn't sure why it's intermittent.

well my RA makes a metal shaking sounds when i start it, its from my heat sheild on my SRI shaking a little. havnt gotten that sound yet, im not gonna lie, it sounds kinda cool. lol

Yeah, I actually love it. people think it's awesome lol. I just wanna know why it's happening and what causes it. I been looking online and most people say it usually happens when shifting, but mine's only on startup, shutdown.

yea that is kinda of odd, kinda like your car is taking a breath. not to sure what to say on that point though. i guess if its not throwing codes or running bad stay with it lol

could it be possible whoever owned the car before you put some kinda loudspeaker in the car to make that noise, to make it sound like a BOV? hahaha....

mine makes that same sort of suction noise when starting up and shutdown. nothing to worry about i dont think

I hear that too when I turn my engine off, but not when I start it up. I first noticed it about 3 months ago, and now I listen for it everytime I shut it off in my garage, because I like it :)

I'd have to say the same as Joshua , I hear a similar noise when I turn it off but not at start up. I wouldn't worry about it though it just sounds like the first gasp of air.

WOA. it actually sounds kinda cool! what kinda intake you got? i have rrm cai and mine doesnt do it... :(
