Very nice write up with a lot of information on how stuff works.. This is pretty cool.. My car doesn't chime though might have been "fixed" before hand.. Maybe 2004s didn't come with it?

As for retirement age, think it's 65 with an option to continue working until either age 71, or until 35 years of service.. (That could just be for Sask. though)

I'm 21 so don't quote me on this, old enough to know but too young to care haha
^^ True

My age? I'm 20 trapped in an over-50 body.

You can also just disconnect the plug under the seat for the seatbelt.

reflashing in older rom files to the ECU will delete the chime also. I think that didnt become mandatory until 2005-2006 as teh 2003-2004 Evo's don't do it and the newer ones do... All in the mapping.

Go Nick, removing mass is like adding power plus there is an inherent handling benefit.
Also, I find steering wheels rather distasteful now that the big lump sits there dominating the middle of it.
Who really wants to sit with an explosive device inches from their precious bits anyway ?

are you sure? cause when i unplugged my passenger seat to clean the carpet underneath, i've had an SRS light ever since, and it's all plugged back in, nothing has changed...can't be a coincidence...

all srs/airbag systems do a self check on every ignition cycle...
if there's sumn wrong it'll come on...if it's all good, it shuts off

maybe it's different on the 06 ECU, cause i have the same problem as Nick, our ECU's are canbus, and there were no problems prior to unplugging the seat...there's no way that something failed at exactly the same time...Nicks car is still pretty much brand new, i highly doubt anything is even close to failing/malfunctioning on his car...
