I typically only got that popping sound on turning after I dropped the car from being jacked up. It would pop once and than that was it. I am assuming that it was just the spring aligning itself into its proper position due to the design of the upper spring seat. On most coilovers, such as my BCs, have a helper spring (a small spring between the coil and seat) that reduce that noise.

I think Summit Racing or someone sells some sort of thrust washer that has been known to help for the spring pop noises though. Check around and see what people say about them or another alternative.
