Painted Stock Rims

You have a black lancer right? I actually JUST became a GTS owner and it is coming with aftermarket all black rims, and it is a black car. I definitely say you cant go wrong with black or the bronze rims that people are starting to do. I think white or any odd colors makes our cars look like toys.

yea i do have a black gts. I have thought about my rims being black, but i think it would be just to dark... do you have any pics of a black lancr gts, with black rims and tints? the contrast between the body colour and whtie rims i think looks sharp. Like the orange lancer pics above with white rims...that looks pretty awesome

Because you can have them powder coated cheaper, and thats more durable. Unless you have a paint gun? I did my own rims in red and everyone that looks at them and asks me who powder coated them. I tell them I painted them. I painted them bc it costed me nothing. I have a friend who gave me paint for free and my father has a paint gun. Here are some pics

Yeah no chips other than like 2 where the lug nuts are from me removing the rims. Other than that they are perfect. They held up better than I thought they would. I wanted to powder coat them but didnt want to pay the money so I decided do this
All I did was degrease them and power wash the wheels. Then I let them dry and took Red Scotch brit pad and scuffed them up, after that I took paint thinner to clean all the dust/dirt off. Then I used playing cards as you can see so I didnt paint the tires red too lol and taped them together bc the air pressure of the gun blew them out the first trigger pull.
As for when I started to paint I primed it with 3 coats then 3 coats of my primary Red color then 3 coats of clear. Letting every coat dry for 10-15 mins. If you do your own make sure to spray thin coats so you have no dripping of the paint.
And Thanks
