Stanced Lancer, Orange CA
Nah bro I didn't say you, just in general that's what I heardif you join and don't have an evo. I'm only 18, just turned 18 in February too. If I could then yeah I'd own and evo right now, but this car was sort of my graduation present because my last car was totalled. I kind of joined to get more info for evo's since I'll be trading this car in for one once the car is paid off. I agree, it isn't practical but it's a life style. I mean its a lancer, this thing can't go fast even if I tried lol. So might as well show it right? It's my daily driver and I love driving this car.
But thanks for the comments guys. Wish I had an evo like you guys but I'm fortunate enough for my parents to even buy me a car. Gotta appreciate what I have. Soon I'll have an evo and enough knowledge to get it fully function and make it a street warrior.

I'm only 17 and my parents got me a Lancer, and I was able to make it "fun" to drive and somewhat fast (through corners not the straights). Hell, I even auto crossed and I was able to keep up with the evos and the subies. If you want to learn to work on cars (I taught myself to port a intake manifold and I have done all of the maintenance), then actually DO IT don't just "hellaflush" it and call it a lost cause, just because your car is "slow" doesn't mean you can't make it a funner car. And anyways a fast car for me is something that makes you smile each time you drive it.One last thing a 2008 civic si bone stock does 0-60 in 7 ish seconds, the lancer is not that far from that.
Total sickness!!!!!! The doll is retarded and makes one think a small asian girl is driving, but great execution!!!!!!
Also, to the poster who does not get this...........NO, your '03 lancer does not keep up with EVO's!

idc what anyone says about ur lancer man. in florida, the hellaflush, stanced, slammed look is the new movement. eventually everyone will get into this kind of thing. i am definitely digging the car. u would be a head turn around here. lemme ask, how do u like the stance with ur bc coils? mine are on the way. thanks
Thanks for showing your setup! People can check out your style and if they don't like it, they've still used you as a resource to figure out what they want in their car.
I love the look, it wouldn't work for me but all the best to you!

At least you didn't pour $$$ into a higher end looking hood, wheels, wing, side vents, and impersonator emblems to basically have a shell of something you're not (you know what im talking about). That direction of exterior mods baffles me more than the whole murders out / extreme stance / hellaflush movement.
This is my car, which is why I took the time to reply:

I did what I think looks clean and simple, which definitely takes some cues from the X's, but I'm not trying to make a mock X. I got my license plate to poke fun at the whole "Is that an Evo?" thing we go through as Lancer owners.

To Danny, you know how I feel about your setup and that damn Barney doll, lol. Your car is still sexy though. Sorry for the thread hijack.
The Lancer/Ralliart/Evolutions are basically the same car, just different specs/changes. I agree on the badging, an evolution badge should never touch a Lancer/Ralliart because that's definitely posing. But it's kind of unfair that anytime a Lancer changes wheels/wings/hoods/etc. we get dubbed Evo wannabes. Most do the blacked out front end because it looks better than the ugly stock front. That's why the X's come like that, it looks good. The Ralliart/X hoods look better than stock Lancers, OEM stuff is usually nicer than aftermarket, and a lot of the other style hoods just don't look that great, cost a lot of money, don't fit right, or still follow the same basic style of the Ralliart/X hoods. Fender vents, meh. I'm not really a fan either but they do look alright. Those are slightly poser-ish but they don't really annoy me.

What you don't seem to get is not everyone tracks their cars or really cares about how fast it can go in a straight line or curves. Some people just like having a car that they like to look at. You can have fun just cruising around in a car styled to your tastes. Most people that drive Lancers use them as their daily transportation, and that's it. What do we need thousands of dollars in performance parts for when we go to work and/or school and back? I'm strongly against street racing or anything like that so those kinds of things are unnecessary. I have an axleback exhaust, SRI, and a tune, and that's 90% for sound and 10% for a little more pep. I don't need anymore than that.

Thanks guys for the comments and supports. Sorry been busy with school. But like AE explained, as well as Roscoe. I'm not really a trackster. I just want a DD that I have fun driving and looks nice. Not every one is into building their car into a road warrior. I decided to make the car look nice, and to me that's enough to make me happy.

Roscoe, I happen to think your GTS is looking very clean.

Again, just giving props to the OP for going left field on the look of his car.
