Buying a Ralliart (Canada)

Right now I am contemplating on trading in my current car (2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor) it has 15,700 km on and I've had a dealership offer $32,000 for it. Basically, what I need is a better winter car and I figure with 32000 that is the base price for a brand new Lancer Ralliart. Since the ralliart has multiple driving modes (tarmac, winter, gravel) and it is 4-wheel drive I figure this is most likely the best car for winter driving in Canada.

My only concern right now is the cost. I am thinking of getting the upgraded package, which is an additional 5000$ in Canada. Is anyone here from Canada and has purchased a new Ralliart so I can get a rough idea of the general selling price?

Any help is much appreciated.

In Calgary they aren't moving on price since they are selling them as fast as they can get them. Hell they aren't moving on EVO X's out here even though they aren't selling very well.

I have the Ralliart with the premium package -- unless you're morally opposed to comfort, nav systems, and several other little tweaks (easier key access, better sound, sunroof, etc.) it's a fairly good deal for dealer-installed equipment.

Then again, I'm a sucker for extras -- I even wasted money on the aluminum shift-handle and parking brake handles, as well as the scuff plates. All of which look incredibly good, but all of which were well overpriced.

Were you able to haggle the price down a bit? If so, how much? I need a rough idea about how much people bought their ralliarts for so I know what the general selling price is :P Thanks in advance

you can definitely haggle... my cousin got his car priced down maybe $1500 or so. His payments were $256 bi-weekly for 72 months. He got the base ralliart with no extra options.

Well, they gave me a $1000 gift card for Best Buy, and a three-year interest rate of 3.8%, but I don't think that counts as haggling, since those are both current promotions... I ordered my car in June, so I really had zero leverage for haggling (but I did get a premium car in rotor glow, so I'm definitely happy). I did manage to get them to install my 17x7.5 wheels with snow tires for free (I had bought the wheels, tires, and TPMS from Tire Rack).

Ask them to throw in the aluminum shift knob and aluminum parking brake handle, if you're buying the premium package -- extremely nice, and clearly marked up ridiculously.
