Lancer Ralliart vs. Mazdaspeed3 for strict Auto-X/Track

Which one do you guys think would be a better platform for motorsports?
Is the Ralliart transmission up for more intensive work, or is it more for daily driving?

In stock form it (Ralliart) should be fine for motorsports. If you're looking to increase the power of the engine substantially, then you'll have to wait until the tuners have a better understanding of how the gearbox's tcu interacts with the ecu.

Well, The Mazdaspeed handles better and is faster. Also has a regular manual transmission...

Perhaps you should look into the Cobalt SS... It's cheaper, and handles better than both of them on a track stock.

I'd rather have the WRX than the Cobalt SS.. In terms of the MS3 vs the RA.. I would think the MS3 would be quicker around any given track with minimal mods for both

If price is a factor, you cannot go wrong with the SS.

No, definitely not. I highly respect the cobalt. OP's IL though, so I thought 4wd may be helpful if that was a concern; though his original question only regarded track/auto-x performance.

The SS since it has came out has beaten the WRX and will now the RA. That SS is no joke as sad as it sounds.

The RA drivetrain is more capable of being an autocross machine then the MS3. AWD w/ front and rear limited slip differentials and a rev matching dual clutch transmission. Of course this is based on whether or not the SST can be modded to match the power levels of that of the MS3.

I think for auto-x any well set up fwd will be just as competent. My IX pushed like none other when it was on stock suspension, and any 4wd would do the same. Things will probably change once the cars get closer to the limits, but I wonder if the RA tranny will toast before that

TTP's z-chip has practically boosted the R/A's power to MS3's level. As far as we know, the TC-SST is the same as the X's (except for taller 5th and 6th gear), so this automatically means that technically it can handle at least Evo X power.

If you want the best stock bang for your buck on tarmac, then your best bet is the Cobalt SS (If you're fine with FWD).
