i went to advance auto parts, and the guys said they didn't have any universal sensors that "fit". I dont understand how it couldn't "fit" when i would be splicing the new wires in with the stock connector.

Its a Denso... has three different numbers on it. on the top its 449100 (i think its a 9 part of it got scratched off)... below that is 6682... and below that is 07k28.
you would think out of all the universal sensors out there, one of them should fit. (or at least i hope so)
upon searching on a site for 2009 mitsubishi lancer... i ended up with two 4 wire universal sensors.
http://www.thepartsbin.com/catalog/?...ishi&md=Lancer
doesnt say anything about thread pitch though, so im not sure if they will work... length of wire is not an issue, ive got the stock wire, plus the sensor is now closer to where it plugs in now.

the 14mm sensor will "fit" there will be no thread pitch issues.
( even a 14mm spark plug would thread in to the O2 bung).
the only concern is will the universal senor send the same signal to the ecm as the proper factory one.......
the universal 4-wire will be cheaper than the mutsu/denso one but still is not "cheap".
if you get the uni and it does not function properly you will need to ge the factory sensor.
then you will be out the price of the "cheaper" universal one you bought..
i would just suck it up , go to the dealer , and buy the factory part.

yeah probably will... as much as i like the price of the universal sensors... my car is brand new and i would hate to put a part on it that might or might not work. so im just trying to confirm that its 4 wires, and the right sensor

my o2 sensor finally came in today and its wrong. the denso p/n is a few off and the connector on the other end is totally wrong.
hopefully i can return it... if not, im going to have to cut and splice and hope for the best.
