I considered trading in my GTS for the Ralliart but instead I traded it for the Evo X. My advice to you is if you're going to do it just get the Evo. There are plenty of 2008's left on dealer lots and you can haggle the price down on these better than the Ralliarts. Good luck with your decision.

i agree with trumpfan.. RA is a fun DD, unless you are a track junkie you dont "need" to get the evo.. youll be good with the RA.

Yes the Evo is a better choice but he should consider two factors: Evo will be about 5 grand more to his loan, and Insurance is VERY VERY VERY expensive, depending on his age.

The GSR for me would have been $7,000 more...$26k OTD compared to $33K OTD. And my insurance would have been an extra $780 a year. Just food for thought.

Also Ultimate Racing obtained over 260whp/270wtq with just a turboback, intake, and FMIC. Saaweet! And thats stock boost.

I'm thinking we'll break the 300+whp barrier with hardpipes, tune, and increased boost.

Yeah I'm also wishing for about 280-290 top without having to swap to a bigger turbo (hopefully)

Awesome! I appreciate all the opinions.

As for the Evo, I've pretty much decided I'm not going that route. The reason is because the lancer is my every day vehicle, and definitely not something I'm going to be racing. I've got a sport bike, so absolutely nothing can compare to what I get out of that. With the bike, I get my fix for speed and handling. I also never drive the GTS in the snow. I've got my truck for that. So while the Ralliart may not be nearly as fast, or have the upgrades that are available for the evo, that's ok in my case. I love that the ralliart has awd, sst, turbo and HID. Really, those are all the options I'd like for my GTS, but again, my GTS has the CVT, so not quite as upgradeable. I also have done absolutely nothing to my car except tint the windows, and keep it in absolute pristine condition inside and out. It's not the car I tinker with. I have my truck and bike for that. Usually the first thing I want to do is rip out the stereo and completely redo everything, but I like that these cars have everything that I want, in a stock setup, including the sound and NAV. The only thing I could really care less about is the sunroof.

Thanks again everyone!!! I plan on stopping by the dealer again. But yesterday they had a ralliart in teh showroom priced (sticker) at 27,xxx then had it marked up $5k for the "Denver Market", lol.

That reminds me, what'd you guys pay for your ralliart? I'll probably so some searching too, but I'd especially like to know from someone who has a loaded ralliart.

How much did you pay for your Ralliart?

^Should answer your question on how much others on here have paid for the RAs. Keep in mind though, that most of the numbers in this thread are from a couple months back when the RA first hit NA shores, and most dealers are now (obviously) dropping the sale price much lower these days.

You sound like you have the same intentions for your car as i do. I have a vette and M3 for serious fun. The RA is my DD and it IMO is perfect for it. Its fast enough, has SST and AWD. And if you so want, you can pull another 50hp out of it rather easily it seems.

Definitley sounds like the right idea to get instead of Evo.

As far as the dealer goes, RUN,dont walk, RUN! Go to another one. Dealership i got mine has RA's sitting on lot and are being sold under invoice. These cars are not some hot car that are flying off the lots, any dealer selling over MSRP is insane or down right trying to steal peoples money.

My thoughts exactly! If they've only got 2 sales guys, they're not selling cars.

I'm going to stop by there again after work and see what they say, after I drive it. I'm curious how much they'll give me for my GTS though. I'm basically going to walk in there like a rich american in a tijuana market. We'll see what they do, except that I'm bringing in a brand new car to trade for another brand new car, lol.

either trade in your current car for a evo X or get yourself a evo 8 or evo 9. Your never gonna be able to upgrade your ralliart like any evo and by what you are saying you like the ralliart because of the awd and sst. now evo x wont have the sst unless you get a MR packadge which is very expensive but really, if your gonna switch cars again you know that after you get the ralliart your gonna want to move up to the evo. so save your self time and your hard earned MONEY and get a evo. and seeing as how the economy is horrible right now most dealers will be happy to sell you a 08 evo at invoice just to get it off their lot.
not necessarily true a Ralliart has the same potential as an evo MR (power wise)

if i found me a good RA for 22k hell i might trade my evo and lancer and get one..and have my Genesis for a daily and mod the RA

or get a 135i or something nice

My friend just walked out of mitsu with a 08 ralliart with recaro package 32k other ralliart was 27k w/o. i walked out of a used lot with a pristine Evo 8 1 owner never been modded with recaros and hids already for 17k. My insurance went up something like 24 dollars a month and i got more power more style ( in my opinion of course ) and saved 15k....

Honestly, this is what I was thinking. With as fast as you seem to bounce from car to car, screw getting a Ralliart. Find a low mileage Evo IX MR. It'll cost less and you'll have a nice car.

If it were me, though, I'd stick with the GTS. The loss isn't worth it.

I agree otter lol i erased my whole blurb and rewrote it because he doesnt seem to want the extra power he has his bike and mods for his truck so if its the style and the nav his gts is exact same and would save a ton of money to just keep it

Some people deem a new warranty to be worth the extra money. Also peace of mind that the car hasn't been abused too. Congrats on the Evo 8 though, they're nice rides.

The ralliart is a heck of a deal no matter how you look at it. Evo 9 awd system, Evo X engine, Evo X MR transmission minus super sport mode and launch control. It was posted that they are selling for 22k in FL. With 0% APR for 48 months and Obama's 100% tax write off on new cars bought this year, I am going to be hard pressed not to get one. The TC-SST wins the deal vs. the GSR for me, looking a few years down the road-I don't want to have to be shifting a 5-spd while I'm dealing with kids in the back seat. For others the GSR maybe the way to go.
