Trying to learn as much as possible on the Ralliart upgrades, and general terms.

Like what is a flash and boost pill. From what I have read it seems like an easy waay to upgrade the car.

 

congrats on the new car and welcome to evo m. start out with a k&n drop in filter (or a cone filter kit if you want to hear the turbo more) a nice turbo back a boost controler and a ecu reflash. This is the easyest first step and will gain alot of power. The ecu reflash is what really brings it all together because then your car perfectally tuned for your mods and will also give you the best drivablity.

 

There is a butt-load of information all over these forums, the search function will lead you each topic you're uncertain about.

Unfortunately, you have to use the search function. Also, read the sticky's.

Pretty, much most of the information out there is on the EVO X forum. So you have to visit those as well, not just the Ralliart one. Also the 08'+ lancer forums, since we share similar body and suspension.

Just for quick reference. Stages are different from any vendor. This what I considered as stages from experience here on evom.net

Stage one - exhaust, flash tune, boost pill.
Stage two - intercooler upper and lower pipes, larger intercooler, another reflash.
Stage three - ?? more fuel? mini battery (for intake)
Stage four - ??? cams
Stage five - upgrade turbo??

We really just have stage 2 in parts out for sale right now...I would just wait til a vendor completes their stages and just buy all the parts from them. There's is no problem in mix matching parts though....Just get a custom tune.

 

Is there any difference between a drop in (K&N/WORKS) and an intake? Or is it purely an aesthetic thing?

 

Yes it is an easy, not too expensive way to get some more power.
