Paint chips easily???

The paint on my 09 RA seems kind of weak.
My car has 3000 miles on it and does NOT get highway driven every day.
Last night I noticed chips all over the hood. It makes me very angry.
You guys have the same problem??

Mitsu paint =

This issue has plagued us since...forever. Common, everyone hates it - get a clear bra. Or, get your RA repainted with some high-quality paint.

Mitsu only uses one coat of high gloss paint to save some $$$ on their cars.

Paint Quality <--old thread where we were complaining

I just washed my car this past weekend and noticed a few samll knicks in the paint. It snows up here and though we have not had any in the last few weeks the roads have loads of small rocks and chipped up asphalt around from snow plows.

I wasnt to stoked about the fact that in 4500 miles I had chips in the paint (although small). It still has to be compared to wear and tear though, unless you are saying it is chipping off from the bumper.

My GTS has chips all over. Huge pain in the butt!

I'm thinking of getting the 3M Rock Guard or whatever. Although the rock guard only goes maybe a foot up the hood... and there are numerous dings beyond that.

Are there any other rock guard options out there?

Case 1:
My friend's Honda's left door touched my car and then he sat in it, causing a scratch in the paint of my back door (driver side); the scratch is almost a full inch long, and my friend's honda's door barely sat on my back door, then when he sat in the car the car went lowered and there's a big ugly *** scratch

Case 2:
Another friend of mine's Honda Ridgeline "traded paint" with a friend of mine's Audi A4 while he was reversing to get out of a parking space, scratching the back of my friend's audi with his Ridgeline; The Ridgeline needs a small paint job, while I was able to literaly REMOVE the Audi's "whiteish" scratched areas in the back side bumper, without leaving a mark.

I said to my friend: That's Audi brand, not Mitsubishi.

Our paint sucks BIIIIIIG BIIIIIIG time for sure. But so does the one in the Hondas

IT is just very disappointing. This is the first brand new car I have ever owned. It's difficult to be proud of and to love a car that has chips all over. I told my wife I hope it gets BLASTED in a parking lot. The car is lots of fun to drive but overall I think I am disappointed in the new car owning experience.

guys if you are worried about small nicks and dings you are going to
drive your selves crazy it happens to all cars there is nothing we can do about it.

If you want rock guard, it cost like 2k and there is only but so much it can handle

^+1 for rotorglow and +1 on crappy honda paint as well. Had my RSX new and that thing had tiny little scratches all over after about 6 months, it was irritating. But hey, that's life and really this isn't a Lambo we're talking about here.

It's the reality of single stage paint. However, even "good" paint can't really stand up to rocks.
