did your RA come with a Sirius receiver?

Do the RAs come from the factory with a Sirius receiver in the car or do you have to add it as an accessory? I was told at the dealer when I bought my RA with the Navi system that the Sirius receiver was already in the car and all I had to do was activate but now it looks like there is no sat receiver since there is no Sirius mode on the touch screen. I called Sirius with the VIN and nothing came up in their system.

Does a preinstalled Sat receiver only come with the audio package??

I saw a Mitsu Sirius receiver at RC Hill online for $527 and there is no friggin way I am paying that much. I do not want to use a dock and play sat radio

thx

In the R/A the Sirius system only comes with the Recaro package, which is separate from the navigation package. From the Mitsu website:

Accessory Navigatione Package
MSRP: $1999
40GB HDD Navigation w/Digital Music Server & CD/DVD Capability
Recaro Sport Package
MSRP: $2750
Recaro® Front Seats, High Intensity Discharge Headlights, 650-watt, Rockford Fosgate® performance audio system with 6-CD/MP3-compatible head unit and nine speakers, including a 10-inch trunk-mounted subwoofer, Sirius Satellite Radio w/ 6-Months Service Provided by Sirius from Date of Sale, 6CD/MP3 In-Dash Head Unit.
So unless you got the Recaro seats, Rockford Fosgate audio w/10 inch speaker in the trunk, and HID headlights, then no, there is no Sirius receiver.

+1 for the dealer telling me the same exact thing. They pretty much said, "Sorry our guy 'mis-informed' you, but go to Best Buy, you can get satellite that way."

Coming from a prior aftermarket sat radio setup, I too was looking forward to the touch screen setup.

So stupid that sat radio is not standard on the nav unit, unless you get the recaro pack.

You might be able to add sat radio to the stock unit, but it can get expensive, I believe there is a hidden icon and when activated you can access it.

I'll add this to my list of my complaints to MMNA about the lousy service I got during the purchase of my car. I bought a SPortster 5 Sirius radio and I plan to transfer my lifetime Sirius SUbscription to that. I'll plug it in via the AUX. Not what I want but I am not spending another 500.00 on the car.

It's amazing that you can buy a product for 25+K and the salespersons still do not have a clue about what they are doing and basically could care less.

Local claims they cannot even find the parts that go into assembling the sat radio. Even if they found them, they would do nothing about it.

It seems created their own connect box to interface Sirius and the MMCS. Would probably have to purchase from someone parting out a GTS, RA or Evo to get at a reasonable price, plus the antennae.
