hmm..that is crazy. This might sound stupid but where would you install a webcam in the car? Where do you get this webcam from? Will it work and actually catch faces of people who are vandalizing cars?

 

I know it sounds stupid, but there has no way I can do.
Just install a webcam in my room, and my car is in front of my room always.
And the webcam has "motion detection" feature, it will record the whole time and send email to me if something is "moving".....
But.... at less record their face first.

Anyone knows anyway to protect their car ????

yeah go to home depot buy camera kit, real security one maybe viper kit top of the line one. yeah i had a 2008 R32 someone key my car on driverside, but i dont think it was as bad as yours. now i have an ralliart,no key scratches yet.

 

The cars are probably getting scratched and messed up when you park them around the city. I doubt someone will come to your house or garage to key the car. I thought you guys were talking about cameras inside the car.

 

I live in an apartment..... which is next to a high way and food court....
so.... OMG

I just went to the body shop today, they said I gotta take off n repaint everything....
it costs $2500 around

 

Make sure you bring it around places. Ask them for a quote and mention what previous shops said they planned to do to fix it (i.e. paint the entire thing)

I had a bad scratch on my eclipse bumper and one shop told me they had to redo the entire bumper. Called up another guy and he came to my house, painted up the damaged area for 100 bucks, and couldnt tell the difference. All they have to do is lookup the paint code.

If there is actual damage to the car I have no idea how that is repaired but to say the entire thing needs to be painted is bull and they are trying to steal some extra money or are incapable of matching the base coat (wouldnt go their either way)

 

I doubt this is a group of people who want the car. For all we know this could be part of a gang initiation. (capture of a photo of yourself screwing up an evo/ralliart). Or it could be a bunch of middle school kids who think its a game. Who knows, either way it sucks and I hope whoever is behind this gets caught soon.
