TEST pipe question

my local exhaust shopped offered to make me one and half the price. i was just wondering with the Test pipe from UR and other our just putting a spacer between the O2 sensors to compensate for the lack of the CAT. Correct? (thats all they did on the GTI)

and if so i'm going to try it, worse thing thats going to happen is i throw an overload code on the 02 sensor easily cleared. there a really good shop they have made cat backs and stuff in the past for me.

ok i did the same, i went to a really god shop to make mea full exhaust. Now the problem that i got was they used a spacer for the o2 sensor and the exhaust is sweet but the sensor is REALLY sensitive and got a cel. The car didnt have a problem running or anything it ran fine but the CEL was kind of annoying to me. i checked the CEL and its from the o2 sensor and i would just reset it every now and then. a little fyi

ya i had the same problem on my GTI the o2 sensors are a BI@#$ it took my from a overload code to a "slow response" after i put the spacers on. what solved my problem was drilling out the spacer 2x bigger then it was (FYI most spacers have a hole about the size of a writing pin in the bottom) and it worked fine after that. or you can run double spacers if your still running "overload code"

any one have a Test pipe? maybe post a pick of how the O2 sensor bug looks like?

it looks like the trick is ( at least with RA and evoX test pipes ) to have the O2 sensor bung welded in on an angle going with the flow of exhaust.

..........and far enough out so the end of the sensor is completely out of the direct stream of exhaust gasses.

Just get the CP-E test pipe. It has a spot for the o2 and doesnt through a CEL.

There's plenty of info available online where people use spark plug non-foulers as spacers between the exhaust and rear o2 sensor.
