Tranny maxed out?
Bingo, until somebody actually has the kits available for purchase and is willing to back them up to a specific power level, I wouldn't go planning for them. A lot of vendors have talked about making aftermarket gear sets for the WRX and only a handful have. Of those, none have made a truly bulletproof set and none have gone problem free. The top set (PPG) are something absurd like 5000$ but idiots still break them by side-stepping the clutch, doing donuts, etc. With the Ralliart, there's also the issue of the TCU, how will it handle upgraded clutches (ie. clutches that grip when the car thinks they should be slipping)? Will the car still go into limp mode if it detects heat that would be excessive for the stock clutch packs but not for the upgraded packs?
TTP-Engineering will not engage in such shameful marketing practices.
We are as real as it gets and will call it as we see it. We see nothing fruitful as of yet to support the SST trans on the RA or MR.
Unfortunately for the forum, there are a number of vendors that like to pretend they have a hand in some kind of SST clutch upgrade coming to market in a marketing ploy to draw attention to their company.

Are you guys working on something for the SST??
wow good info guys. but yes i understand that 300 WTQ is a lot of power however im hoping that thats not the end of our potential on these cars. and i know its still new and ill have to wait

^dont be so sensitive, TTP is not bashing any vendors, they are calling it as it is. Dude they work on evo and mr all day im sure that if there were a clutch upgrade they would be the first ones to hear it! remember they are a SHOP and if they think they see it as a marketing ploy then they can call it.
hey have you met Ambystom? you read his posts...um ya, if TTP post bother you, then amby will make you cry...get over it.

Why would TTP bash another vendor? If the clutches existed, TTP could A. sell them and make money and B. tune the Ralliart and MR more and make money.
motorwise, no way, the 4b11 is capable of more then that. They should have put in a tranny that could handle it (same w/ MR) no question.
From my understanding, clutch packs have been made (at least for one customer's car). This alone may not solve anything, but that's not entirely the point. SSP is offering such a thing for the GTR, so it's not unreasonable to believe what they say they're doing to the SST is true.
I just don't understand why people keep on moaning about 350ft-lb. I guess I didn't know that it's not a decent amount of power. Realistically, over 400, and the car starts to become a pain to drive in the streets as you'll need a decent size turbo, leaving you with a weak low-end most likely followed by a large surge of power that can get you in a LOT of trouble. It may be ok if you just want to build a drag car, but that just seems like a waste of an Evo, or R/A.

Most of the people complaining haven't driven a car with a decent amount of power. Hell, depending on the dyno, a 300 wtq car can be an absolute beast. We have guys with less than that that can easily break traction to all four wheels on dry pavement.
