Life is short and very generic. Why not race every light, try every wine, travel to every part of the world and not give a **** about the rest of the consumers? If you can get launch control, get it. If you can afford new transmissions, blow those MFs up. Do whatever you can without limiting your overall resources.

Because racing at every light is stupid and can make life even shorter and more generic. How do three meals a day sound?

Life is short and generic only when we fail to recognize the subtle and beautiful things. In other words, stop and smell the ****ing roses once in awhile guys.

I agree with the essence of epoole's statement but I'd like to add to it - "as long as you don't hurt others in your pursuit to live life fully".

sorry, but I don't get it. maybe cause I'm blonde or because it's been a long week already.
I don't Race Light to light, only time I would even think about needing a 2 step would be at the drag strip on the occasional Friday night, but because the RA is "AutoMagical" I just hold the break and boost it to 2500 - 2800. this only lasts for a few seconds if the tranny can't take that, then heaven forbid that anyone ever try to AutoX or even take a spirited drive through the mountians.

Hum, the tranny is at its early stages, mitsu sort of released it to "see what happens next" and they're completely aware how 99% of the drivers would end up "abusing" the transmission; that means a lot of warranty re-calls for mitsu which leads to losing money;

they tried their best to keep the tranny safe from people wearing it out or even blowing it out;

so much misinformation about the TC-SST is making me sick.... How many trannys did Nissan loose to their GT-R drivers the first month? and that was thanks to what: LC... I think we should start calling Nissan GT-R's tranny a piece of crap and the Evo MR an excellence since it at least protects the driver from committing an atrocity

Research people, research....

that doesn't mean that the Ralliart can't take a mountain and swallow it; though I recommend you not take that mountain road with 215mm tires

Umm...no, the MR tranny ****s the bed at the track, ie. the road course, have you heard of a GTR doing that? At the past weekend's Solo1 event (time attack basically), the MR owner was getting very frustrated at the car's inability to sustain it's performance after numerous hot laps. It seemed like every 10 laps or so, the car had an issue whether it be the transmission or the brakes.
Mitsubishi isn't going to get hurt by the transmission, they can and do deny warranty claims readily. If they suspect you're brake launching the car, they'll deny you. If they suspect you installed launch control, they'll deny you.

I know the MR craps out of the box after 3 laps (there's a fix for that)

what I was saying was the fact that the GT-R owners where launching the damn car and blowing the tranny right after; while Mitsu owners haven't cause the ECU sends the tranny in a limp mode, thus protecting itself.... remember that tedious "Slow Down" message in the dashboard? I'm glad that's there...

and maybe it won't hurt them in the way of loosing money cause of having to fix numerous blown trannys... but what about their image? which they haven't been able to fully clean yet

The GTR is what, close to 500 HP as well? It weighs more than the Evo as well I think. Launching that thing is going to hurt. The amount of people blowing transmissions is still small, for both Nissan and Mitsubishi.

It'll be interesting to see how much of the SST issues get resolved with a larger trans cooler.

Interestingly enough, at Solo1, the Evo owner solved his cooling issues by essentially lining the opening in his bumper with tin foil. It didn't look pretty but it worked.

LOL

Uhhhhhhhhh.... ok?

Did he just line the existing ducting, or did he create new ducting with the foil?
