Thinkin bout them mods!
Thinkin bout them mods!
I don't know much about cars but I've been wanting to mod my RA. These are the parts I'm looking at:
HKS B.O.V.
U.R. 3" Dual Exit Catback Exhaust
U.R. 3" Test Pipe
U.R. Short Ram Air Intake
TTP Tune
I want your input! Anything better? Something about these you don't like? Anymore parts I should look into getting? Help me out! Thanks,

I'd stay away from that HKS bov... Are you going to do VTA?
I'm a huge HKS fan, but I won't recommend their BOV to anyone. The stock bov is good to ~22psi. After that look at the JDM bov which is aluminum and is good to ~27psi.
I hope you aren't trying to do VTA, it is super bad for evos.

... yeah... Don't wanna do that VTA... Because we all know what that is... You should explain to the noobs though, they might not know...
hehe, sorry used to talking to the evo guys.
VTA == Vent to atmosphere. It's where the pressure from the blow off valve goes out, instead of being diverted back into the intake. Ricers like this because it sounds cool. But really it's super bad for the engine even with a tune.
When it's vent to atmosphere and you're getting on it, let off (lets out the excess boost), then step back on it... the intake is expecting all that air to be there but it's not so it runs super rich for about 1/2 a second.
So it's good to keep them going as a diverter valve back into the intake.
I'm not all to familiar with the ralliart restrictions. I do know that new intercoolers usually don't bring much of a gain, and in some cases can cause a loss in power. Those cases are because there isn't enough boost to fill them up quick enough. I know on my Evo VIII I put a huge perrin intercooler and I didn't see the gains until I was doing 26psi+.

Like everyone is saying, stay away from the VTA and get the Evo diverter valve or Forge, there is a guy who i think is selling one, i can get the info for you. And also look at this b4 you think about the intake

If anything get a drop in air filter.
