Has the instantaneous mileage gauge changed your driving habits?
Coming from a car without an average or instantaneous mileage gage, having one in the RA has really changed my driving habits. It's made my driving a lot smoother and gotten my average speed UP in the city by maintaining a good constant speed to catch the lights and avoid having to stop and go. I think it's actually better for the car too, less wear and tear.
Nope, not at all, I still get horrible mileage, but then I didn't buy the car for it's good gas mileage.
I do a lot of city driving, so I don't get very good mileage, when I do get on the highway, it's only for short hops and I tend to accelerate pretty quick when "merging" onto the highway, so....
I also deal with a lot of stop and go traffic (train tracks) and run my AC 24/7, Texas heat sucks!

I agree. It is nice to have an idea of just how fast your beast is guzzling gas. My driving style has also change a little. I still pretend there is a cockroach on the gas pedal sometimes
It has changed mine, on occasion. While traveling long distances I try to get the most out of each gallon (I got 28mpg this weekend!

). Usually though, I'm just mashin the gas pedal and getting the turbo spooling loudly.

I'm not trying to be cheap on gas either. Just trying to not waste gas when I don't need to. Like if I'm going upstate, while I'm driving out of the city, I tend to just coast at the slowest speed possible to catch the lights while a lot of people are flooring it just to brake to the next light. Once I'm on the open road, I can average almost 25-26mpg till I get to the twisty mountains, then I let er rip!
