RA tuned for 98RON fuel

Hi All,

I've been having a look on this forum for a while and am hopefully taking delivery of my new 09 RA sportback next week

I was just wondering, all the threads I've been seeing regading retunes etc are based on 91RON fuel. Has anyone got a basemap for a RA running 98RON? Has anyone done a 98RON retune and if so how did the figures look?

The reason I ask this is that 98 is quite common in AUS and this is the only fuel I will be running my RA on.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

John

I belive you need to be asking for a 94 map. In the states they work out their octane ratings by taking the MON (Motor Octane Number) add the RON (Research Octane Number) then divide by 2. Where as in Australia we only use the RON. The Mon takes into consideration Octane lost from oil vapour from engine and a few other factors.

Thanks for this info.

Rephrased question then, "Has anyone done retunes for 94"? If so can you post maps so we can all see the differences between this and the 91 maps.

I think there are several tunes for higher octane ratings. I always recommend a custom tune by a local tuner, but that is not always an option. I believe TTP's basemap is for 93 octane (US), but I'm not sure. GST also has a free reflash floating around, and they seem more than willing to work with people who run a log after reflashing.

98RON is USDM 92.5 R+M/2 method.

The fuel is relatively the same octane, measured differently.

We have tuned many AUS, EDM, Canadian Ralliarts. Let us know if you would like more information on our reflashes.
