AMS Re-Flash

So what's everyone's opinion that has the AMS re-flash? I'm seriously considering it. From what I read on here so far it seems everyone loves it. I just wanted to see if there were any negative side effects after the re-flash.

AFAIK, the only negative thing about a flash is that it's the cheapest $/hp mod so you'll be pissed at the cost of everything else lol.

there is some skill that comes with it... regardless of how you look at it.. especially when two same ralliarts stock are running differnet times up to .50+ its not nearly as much as manual but knowing shift points and other driving techniques help in releasing full potential of our cars

Silly question, so lets say you buy the AMS flash and boost pill you email your flash and they send you the new flash plus the pill, then you have to go get it tuned right? I don't live near Chicago so who does the tune, anyone? How does that work exactly?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. If you are asking if you need to be retuned after getting the AMS reflash + boost pill, the answer is no. AMS's flash is tailored to work with the boost pill.

All that being said, I still prefer custom tunes. Using a boost pill frees up some extra boost, so AMS has a pretty good basemap because the map takes advantage of that extra boost. However, a custom tune without a boost pill will get you very close or surpass a reflash with boost pill. A custom tune with a boost pill should do even better. The cost difference is marginal at best, and in the end, you get to help local tuners who, in turn, can better support your other modding needs.

hehe, launching it your going to need timing and skill.
especially since I seen RA's running slower times with more mods than me, no offense to anyone.

other than that...its just stepping on the gas, haha.

+1, custom tune is the best.

I just ordered the exhaust. Now I'm going to do the re-flash and install everything at once. I was actually waiting on the re-flash because I sent Chris @ AMS an email last week to see if they were coming out with an option where you didn't have to mail in you ECU. He said they were working on that and something might possibly be ready by the end of this week.
