EvoScan GPS Navigator for the Ralliart
EvoScan GPS Navigator for the Ralliart
I am very interested in getting the Tactrix 2.0 cable and as I was searching for one I cam across EcoScan. On their page they have the EvoScan GPS Navigator that can be used as a Datalogging tool as well as a GPS. I sent them a few questions to see if this unit is compatible with the 2010 Ralliart and what can be monitored. Here is what I found out, the 2010 Ralliart is supported and the below parameters can be viewed/logged:
- RPM
- Load
- Timing Advance
- Boost PSI
- Knock Sum
- Throttle Position
- Speed
- Intake Air Temperature
- Engine coolant temperature
- Short Term Fuel Trim
- Long Term Fuel Trim
All of this information is sent to theGPS Navigator via the Tactrix - OpenPort 2.0 Universal USB Cable. You can get all of this for under $600. (This includes the Tactrix 2.0, GPS Navigator, and shipping) Also they are still developing the datalogging software, and should soon have the trans temp available.
Here is a link to there site: http://www.limitless.co.nz/EvoScan/ (The GPS Navigator is near the bottom of the page)
This sound like a good deal to me. I would spend way over $600 for standard gauges, a GPS, and the Tactrix cable. This unit does it all of that in one nice little package. Has anyone here used the GPS Navigator with the Tactrix 2.0? If so how do you like it? Do you feel it is worth the cash?
What are your thoughts on this system?

I've logged using EvoScan and my netbook, and played around with the virtual gauges (which I'm assuming is what the Navigator will also be displaying). In my experience, the gauge animations are not very smooth...the display seems to update once or twice a second, making everything look kind of choppy. I wanted to install a carputer head unit and use EvoScan for my gauge displays, but I'm not sure if I will unless I can get the gauges to react quicker.
