I had my car keyed earlier this month. They went from the passenger fender all the way to the passenger rear door. It ended up being 1100 bucks for the fix, but I was only out 500 for my deductible. If it's deep and you can feel your finger sort of catch your screwed. Either way take it to the dealer body shop, I tried other ones and they kept saying my paint was charcoal. See what they will say for an estimate. If it's a lot (more then insurance deductible) do a claim on that.
Sorry to hear that someone did that to you.

I had the exact same thing happen to my car, but I'm pretty sure it was a cat as it was at the top of the hood and on the roof at the top of the windshield.

My estimate from the body shop was $1000, but I haven't gotten it fixed yet.

Cats I'd think they could buff out. But good luck with the fix. Post up what the damage is when you talk to them.

I got a dent in the top part in between the roof rails and the rear passenger door from the railroad crossing arm coming down on it. It's costing just over $500 for the dent to be pulled and the colours and clear coat to be blended out. Also spent 4 days in the shop. Blah!
