Question What boost gauge and where to install?

What do you guys think of the prosport boost gauge? Seems reasonably priced and the white would match our factory gauges.

Do you guys have any pics of your boost gauge location? I read an older thread that people said they regret putting the gauge on the steering column. Just wanted to see where you guys all put yours and want to get some ideas.

Will the dealership make a big deal about me installing a boost gauge?

No idea about the dealership part, I've yet to visit the dealership since I bought mine. I probably will at 15k service but I really don't see how something that simple could be a big deal.

I got the Prosport Digital Boost gauge. Warning! Mine did not come with a cup or mounting anything. Just a gauge hood. So stupid, but I definitely prefer the digital gauge. Much easier to glance at and looks clean. I had to order a 9.99 mounting cup...

I put my mounting cup in the left hand side on the dash next to my A Pillar, almost at the windshield. I drilled a little hole in the A pillar towards the bottom and ran the wires through that, through the weatherstriping at the door corner, and around through the fender back to the engine.

Took me a long time since I had wiring difficulties and got frustrated passing the wires but it's doable! If you're in Chicago, I can show you it, and maybe help.

im pretty sure if u were to go to the dealership with the gauges they will void any electrical work, i heard that if u do anything wiring wise like install switches for lights or anything they wont do any eletrical related work. but i like the phantom II gauges, but i think im going to buy the AEM analog boost gauge and AEM Digital UEGO A/F gauge, i like the black faces and red lights which match the interior

I like that position the best. When they're on the steering column they block part of the speedometer and tach.

I've heard prosport gauge needles are off by 1psi. The needle doesn't sit directly at 0. I ordered Aem wideband and digital boost gauge. There is a thread on here called how to distubition block. There is some good info if you want to run more gauges and maybe run a radar director or other devices to one central location. I am going to buy a summit racing gauge pod and mount it up were the ash tray is.

This isn't even close to true.

Thanks for the replies and picture. 1 psi can make a difference if they really are off. I just like how they are 89.00 compared to 200.00 for the defi. I know you get what you pay for most of the time. Except with the GST tune lol. That is free and amazing so I can't say nothing good comes free anymore lol.

I really like the look of the gauges on the a-pillar but its not the best location for a quick look while driving, I wouldn't think. Plus with the air bag in the pillar I worry about that.

My prosport digital boost gauge reads -8 vacuum and 21 PSI max, which seems bang on with the GST basemap v2 with 93octane and boost pill. I'm 99% sure it's accurate, but this may be different because I have no needle...

As for location, with the pod cup, seems like it's pretty easy to glance over and see the reading...at this point though, it's really just a novelty. I can guess what PSI i'm at most of the time nowadays...

Could you provide some additional information regarding the pod you are planning to purchase from Summit Racing? Is this pod made for the RA? If not, how are you going to mount it?

why not something like this?

It looks like it's raised up too high to me but maybe someone makes one that has a lower profile?

found it here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/au...-pod-sale.html

Really the gauges on the steering column doesn't look too bad I just don't know about losing the clean look of the instrument cluster. I have seen some pics of a guage cluster about the stereo area. The only thing is that you also have to look over quite a bit to check the guages. The one above the steering column might not be too bad if it wasn't so tall.

Keep the pics coming!
