Is there an issue with being tuned and driving in auto normal?

Regardless, excellent numbers, congrats on that! Also, what did you pay for your new trans?

Yeah, I'm still to figure out how he's getting a new tranny and is only paying $800 when my dealer told me the cost on my new tranny was $12,000.

on a stock ralliart, not at all.

On one with 340 torque, yes, and ill explain why.

1. steve has aheavy foot, and likes to punch it alot out of 6ht gear on the highway(where he does 100 miles a day)

2. with 340 ft lbs at 3200 rpm, and with crusing speeds in 6th gear keeping him near that, punching it out of 6th in auto normal mode will force the tranny to try and move 300+ foot pounds of torque. By simply shifting himself to forth, and then hitting the throttle he will put less stress on the transmission.

If you drive in normal auto mode you have noticed the car trying its best to shift quickly. At part throttle it will be shifting in daily city driving in and around 300 ft lbs all day, which can also be adverse in the long run.

Gotchya! I get the whole downshifting manually than flooring it will help put less stress on the trans. smoke *cough* Either way Gens Ra makes nice power! You know what im saying? Daily driven with that kinda tq on sst stock clutches could be furiously damaging to the trans.

i agree it could be. Its just an adjustment in driving techniques. Much like going to a new car and feeling out a different clutch.

Its too bad its like 4*C here today (38*F) and they closed the track, he would have learnt the shift points quickly if it had been open and able to participate.

Congrats on the numbers! I'm deffinitely interested to see how well the tranny holds up to all that power.
