Question smell after hard throttle

Just wondering if it's normal to have a strong smell after full throttle then slow down. My buddy and I were messing around this morning on an empty lot and after some quick little bursts I noticed strong smells and I decided to slow down before something breaks. No warnings of anything, I'm just curious if anything might have been damaged, other than my ego. Oh and FYI Honda Accord V6 are so fast off the line. I makes me kind of feel bad that a normal family car can just take me out.

hahah! Yer buddy crapped his'sef!! :P

Seriously, probably the cat converter (if it smelled like rotten eggs) . Should stop after a few thousand miles once the cat is more broken-in.

Race that same Honda on a rainy day

Yeah I wish....anyways my car has 48,000 miles on it so I'm assuming the cat is broken in, hahaha yeah rain no problem (I drove through a flood while the acura TL next to me got stuck), Mud and snow and gravel, easy....I guess I should base flash just to add a little something.

lol whoah. you should definitely at least get the GTS basemap v2 + boostpill. It's like awakening a sleeping giant...

i remember the first night i flashed mine with just v1, it seemed like someone had put a pissed off rodeo bull under the hood right off the bat. with v2 + boostpill and 93 octane, you'll destroy that accord. Hell, some guy here is running 13.2's with just that...which puts him in some serious stock performance car territory.

Ralliarts are known for being slow off the line from a dead stop unless you rev the engine and do a "launch" which is really hard on the tranny. I would suggest starting the race from a slow roll, and you should be able to smoke the Accord.

Thanx for the responses, off topic but just saw that someone keyed my car passenger side from front to the back, twice, some people just have no class, I'm not rich by any means and I work hard for everything I have, it sucks that people can just vandalize my car. I was thinking it's just some kid who hates Mitsubishi bcuz mine was the only car scratched. Anyone have any success with removing scratches, it looks like it's deep all the way through the primer.

That won't buff out. You will have to take it to a body shop and have them re-spray the area. Check with your insurance company, they may be able to file it under uninsured motorist or something.

Whats it smell like? Burning clutch maybe? I know my car had a oil smell once I got on it after my accident. As for the scratch, you wont be able to buff that out. Touch up paint or talk to your insurance like jkennedy said. It sucks how much people have to be dick heads. Sorry to hear about that

Wont you still have to cover the deductible if you claim it on your insurance. My car got egged, it ****ed up the paint on my hood pretty bad. I didn't claim it cause I thought I'd still have to cover the deductible.

Since you were in a parking lot im guessing its just the smell of gas from the exhaust

I beg to differ. Back when I had my RA it was stop and go up a super steep parking garage ramp and to get forward the car would struggle to get into gear quickly and since it was stop then go stop then go about 10 times I could smell something burning, I assumed clutch. But then again these are wet clutch systems - right?

your fine, i get the same smell, smells kinda oily almost, i believe its just the smell from the turbo, when i first got the car i noticed it and was worried to death however its just normal for it to smell that way after a good hard throttling
