Hey everyone. So I'm new to the forum as I just bought my 09 WW RA with 7k on it on 10/16. I was excited when I bought it, dealership took my crappy trade and let me drive it off the lot. I went back the next Saturday (MA law requires inspection and registration within 7 days on a transfer) to get my inspection sticker... only to find out that they didn't have the title, so they don't have the registration.

Well that kinda sucks, but no reason to explode. Stealership promised they would have the registration on Monday and would overnight it so I would have it on Tuesday.

It is not Thursday... I called them again and found out NOW that the title doesn't exist. They had to apply for a "Lost/Duplicate" title, which in MA can take 4-6 weeks. Meanwhile I can't legally drive the car so I've been rumbling around in my weekend TT Stealth that is stripped, with no radio, hates the cold, and has a leaking heater core that leaves a coolant film on the windshield.

So should I try to jam this car back down their throats?? Or are there any cool accessories I should try to get out of them for the deal? It already has the Recaro package but maybe I could get the Nav unit?

Kinda sux cause about a week ago I was looking at ordering my Tactrix cable, now I'm wondering if I even want to keep the damn thing.

 

to be honest the RA is a bad *** ride... if you can get it for a steal do it!!!! now for the title and ****... i say call corp and complain and call you local DMV too

You should also call your town's commerce department, or the police immediately!! Some unscruplulous dealers play a game where they take a car in trade, don't pay off the previous loan, and then sell the car to someone else. In the end, both owners end up getting screwed because the first owner is on the hook for the original loan, and the second owner ends up with a loan for a car they don't technically own.

I don't know how big the dealership is that you bought from, but I wouldn't trust them at all. Call the authorities and have them check this place out.

Well since I posted this in a rage I ran the CarFax on it and was at least able to confirm it hasn't been reported stolen. Its a pretty big dealership so I'd hate to think they'd pull some shady bs like this.

 

Hey OT but curious what color is your stealth? I always loved that pale yellow they used.

Yeah they offered a loaner car but I'm trying to get them to give me other stuff instead since I'd rather drive another one of my own cars than the POS loaner they'd stick me with. Although an Evo to beat on for a while would be fun... lol

 

When i got my Ralliart they screwed me around on repainting my front bumper because there were a few chips on it so they gave me a brand new Eclipse GT to beat around in.
