I have a new question. My reason for wanting to change the downpipe is because TurboXS says that the Ralliart has 2 cats, one in the dp and one in the midpipe. I was thinking I could get rid of the first one and then run a high-flow cat for the second one.
Does the RA actually have 2 cats? TurboXS says it does, nobody else talks about it.

Check their website under frontpipe (downpipe)

Single cat, just like the Evo.

Personally I would be weary of purchasing exhaust components from a company that has no idea what is actually in the exhaust components.

That's what I was thinking. I was searching thru different exhaust systems and came across that one, but when I saw the 2 cat thing I figured that I should get the downpipe. Then, I noticed that nobody else said anything about the dp, so I started to question what was going on. Thanks Bryan for confirming my suspicions.

New question! Springs! I need 'em.

Which ones do you guys prefer? I want a mild drop that will keep my shocks alive, between 1" and 1.5", but my main idea is to counter the body roll. I'm going to be doing some Auto-X with a few friends next year, ('07 STi, '03 Audi A4, '02 BMW 325i) and I want springs that will keep the car somewhat flat in the corners.

It's not necessary (or even wanted) for my car to be slammed so I can have baller status.

I've found 4 types that are getting good feedback on the forums.

Swift, Robispec, RRM, Eibach pro kit

Update! After finding out that a nearby tuning shop works with EcuFlash, I've ordered a Tactrix cable and boost pill. Will run the GST 91 octane v2 basemap and see how it makes it through the winter. In the spring, I'll add the mods and get the car tuned.

remove the AMS trans cooler, as it isnt a great investment with mild tuning. Invest in the 150$ short ram intake from Ultimate Racing. You dont need to replace the battery, but it adds to the power.

Also look into the Ultimate racing short downpipe + midpipe with high flow cat. Cost is great, and will open up the flow without alot of added noise if you keep the stock catback.

Lastly, try to find a used evo x or 9 bpv. The metal ones hold better, especially in our canadian climates.

any drop will reduce the life of the shock. it's dependant on the spring rate vs stock spring rate. a stiffer spring will wear the shock more prematurely. it won't take long either; i had eibach prokit on my last two cars and even though they're claimed to be less than 1.5" of lowering and very mild improvement on stiffness, both wore the stock shocks within 5000 kms. afterwards i bought KYB's and was satisfied in the ride improvement.

I've had 3 sets of coilovers on my other cars and i have to say that they're a vast difference in ride comfort and performance. i'll never buy a spring and shock combo again.
