FMIC and piping
FMIC and piping
Im looking to upgrade the stock IC (and maybe BOV), but the popular brands are a little too pricey for me
So i was looking on ebay and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Evolu...ht_8083wt_1167
It seems alright but way too cheap, so is this even worth buying or should i make the stretch and wait until i can afford AMS or ETS, etc?
And if i do end up buying brand name, does all the piping match? Like can i buy an ETS FMIC and UR upper piping? Thanks for any help, im new to this.

I was also looking at FMIC and BOV, but they are all so pricey. So I decided to go with used EVO X FMIC and BOV.
If you read some of the builds a lot of them use EVO X parts and they are doing fine with good results.

the only thing worth even considering to put on your car, imo, would be the piping (minus the intake elbow) and the silicone couplers. as long as fitment is ok, a pipe is a pipe is a pipe, though you'd have to worry about crappy welds and cheap materials cracking and coming apart. eBay specific discount intercoolers and bovs are relatively worthless for any serious engine build. clamps might be usable?
honestly though, you're just better off saving up and getting the good stuff a little at a time. it'll make the process more enjoyable and worthwhile. plus the time between adding different parts will give you a chance to get used to the new goodies and you can see and feel exactly how each part is changing and improving your car so you have a better understanding of the whole thing. that's just my .02

Thanks chi-town. Looking at the prices of all these parts, I think i'm definitely going to take my time buying things haha. Some friends of mine also advised me against that ebay deal, that i'd be better off with quality parts. @silverwar, yea i noticed the same thing, i just couldn't find any Evo X IC's, i guess i just wait until i see one in the marketplace?
