Wow 500 for factory NAV? That is an amazing price. I see them go for over 1000 easy.

Back on the subject my phone disconnects sometime too. I just have a messaging phone the Pantech from ATT. I plan on getting the iphone4 in a week or so. Sad to see those have issues too. I thought I would rid that with the new phone.

Yeah, I've seen Factory Navi got for 1500-2000 new, slightly less if used (i.e. pulled form dash of wrecked car, or whatever)
BTW I have a Samsung Omnia II, no issues in 5 months. Every time I start the car the little green phone icon is there, plus calls are crisp and clear. Never had this feature in my other cars, I f-ing love it!

I am getting sick of crap always going wrong with my car! UGH!
Do you use airport mode on your phone? I find it that turning on airport mode on and off instead of turning the phone off for whatever reason cause the bluetooth to malfunction. Usually how I fix it is instead of re-pairing the phone to the car I just turn off bluetooth and turn it back on. I got a Iphone 3GS.

you should check your voltage on your car battery. It is possible that you might have a weak battery and it doesn't like to save the memories.

It worked on the way to work yesterday but didn't on the way home. I did not put it on airplane mode.

Happens to me all the time, the OEM Navi will randomly forget my phone. HTC Imagio. I'll turn the car on, and the bluetooth pairing process will start up on the phone. Only happens when the bluetooth has forgotten my phone.

This used to happen with Blackberry phones for me in general, but the problem went away once i switched over to Android platform phones.

My original bluetooth module kept dropping out on multiple phones (Nokia and iPhone).
After 1 year of complainint Mitsu eventually changed the module. Worked fine for about a month, now it's forgetting the phone (iPhone 3G).
Tried my spare N97 and it did the same thing after a couple of weeks.
This is definately a fault with the Bluetooth as my original wasn't forgetting the phone, it was just dropping out for a period of time (a few hrs to a day or so) then working again. Only have the forgetting phone with the new module.
Will be mentioning it to Mitsu again when I have my next service in about a months time.
