Sub Woofers

This is random i know. But does anyone have a sub woofer(s) for their RA? Im looking to get one for my car, i just don't know what brand name to get, how many will fit in the trunk, and where to place it in the trunk.

Can someone help me out please...

This is very generic, I think the brand is a matter of state. The best way is to go to a car audio shop and listen to the option they have available. Once you have selected a few that sound like you want, you should search them on google and see what people think about it. Especially if they are reliable and if they handle the power you plan in to feed them.

What will make a big difference is the amplifier(s) you select.

I have a 10" Hertz EBX 250 installed in my car. It is perfect because its a ported box that fits directly underneath the metal rail in our trunk. Thus it leaves me with most of the trunk to use for bags, etc.. This is a 350 watt subwoofer and provides enough thump for any occasion I find. In fact I have to turn it down a lot of the time even.

I have a Rockford Fosgate T1 in mine. If you want some serious bass, look at those. I'd go with a sealed box as they are usually smaller. If you want something oemish lookup Wicked CAS. The sub that comes with that isnt bad either, but as others have said, the amp is another big part of the quality and loudness.

I have a JL 10W7, if you want some serious bass, that is the way to go. The box I currently have, takes up a lot of trunk space, but I'm working on a custom fiberglass box to help free up a little more space.

I'm going to be putting in an alpine type R ten with amp if my friend sells it to me. I built a small box just waiting to see if he's gonna give it to me or not.

idk how much bass your looking for but the stock Rockford fosgate sub is plenty for me and it uses the least space since flush in the corner.

you could always take out the stock sub and throw in another 10 in that has more power, but then you'll need to upgrade the amp. i wonder where the amp is located?

I just put in an Alpine Type R 12" with ported box made specifically to Alpine's recommendations and it way more than enough, I might downgrade to a 10 instead. I also put in Image Dynamic CTX65CS components as well.

I dunno if im just picky but I cant seem to obtain the sound I want from these components so I might sell them and get the comparable alpine components that I liked from my previous car. I just finished installing all this stuff myself about 2 weeks ago so lemme know if you have any questions.

Im taking it to a local shop by where I live. I gave them a price range, and he is hooking me up with a single 12" MTX Termintor sub with a ported box. Idk what he is doing about the Amp yet. But he said for a price range of $500 to $600, this is your best. I'll post their link once their we page is up. It's under construction.

Ok. Sorry to bring up an old post. But now that I got my subwoofer, the guys tuned it to my car, but there is a nasty rattle that comes from right behind the back seat head rests. It seems when I put my hand on it and put pressure on it (pushing down) it's goes away. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did you fix it?
