Just installed a base bike rack system, didn't realize that wind noise would be very apparent starting at 30mph, just wondering for those that do have a bike rack on the roof, does a fairing help with wind noise, I don't wanna spend $70 on a piece of plastic that doesn't do anything.

 

It will help but it wont eliminate it

 

^true. That is why my rack comes off when not in use...

 

If the wind noise is in the form of a whistling sound, try wrapping some cord around the bars. It breaks up the resonance.

 

Any of you guys want to sell one of your roof rack mount plastic covers lol. My wife lost one on her ralliart.
