Mitsu Custom Leather Program
Mitsu Custom Leather Program
hey there RA brothers and sisters...
When I got my 011 I was torn over the touring package. I wanted leather, but didnt want a sub in the trunk, a sunroof or the rear lip (I like the tacky wing a lot - adds character!) and I was getting the nav so didnt need the head unit upgrade (nav in this car is great btw)
My dealer showed me the customer leather program:
https://roadwiremclp.com/downloads/M..._0809_vol2.pdf
I saw that and said ME LIKE (im a sucker for logos, two tone, stitching, etc)
I decided to go for it and ordered up black/charcoal with grey stitching and ralliart logo headrest embroidery. It has taken about a month to produce, but the material is now at the installer. Total installed price was $1900 for the options I chose.
The process is interesting... They take the parts out at the dealer, ship them off to the certified installer who re-covers them and sends them back, and then they rebuild it.
Fronts, rears, armrest and door inserts are done (anything that has the microfiber basically)
Should take 3 days according to the dealer.... I will post up pics once it is done (fingers are crossed on that one) in case anyone else is considering doing this b/c I didnt find much info on it other than a few old threads that seemed to taper off.

Yeah, its a lot. It only makes sense compared to the touring option and even then only if you dont want that other stuff.
Like for me I really only wanted the leather, so in a way it was cheaper.
Ill double check the invoice when I pick it up (been a while since I placed the order so I forgot), but I think the install was like $300 or $400 and the leather was the balance.
The heated seats option is $190 of that total as well. Depending on what you pick (color combos, logos, stitching, perforation, etc) it changes the materials cost as well.

Damn, that's what the car _should_ have been delivered with in the first place! I'd love some colour in the interior, red stitching and Ralliart emblems on the seats...no such option here though :-/
Its also not easy to find. My local dealer has a fantastic service manager guy who is an enthusiast, so he was aware of it. Without him I'd have never found that link (he sent it direct to me)

They have a good reputation from the Mazda forum i came from - people were pleased.
Comes with installation video.

That's why i just ended up getting the Touring pkg. For $800 more I got the moon roof, HID's, auto sensing wipers, audio pkg ..but no rear lip in the USA. The dealer did say the aftermarket leather was of higher quality then the Touring pkg, but I'm happy with it.
So they managed to get it done in two days somehow! Sort of surprising. I am happy with the result. Here are the pics...
