How much did you pay for your Sportback?

Hi there,
Prospective new member here. I currently own an '09 GTI and I am looking to make the AWD switch. Love the sportback because I want to stick with a wagon/hatchback for the utility.

I am looking at purhasing a new one within the next few months or so. What is a good price to pay for one of these? I've seen a lot of people who say to not pay over 25-26k for one and that they are getting them for ridiculously cheap off sticker price.

My other problem, is that availability seems very limited, especially for the Sportback. No dealers nearby have any, so it looks like I would need to travel to find one. Are they still taking orders for these from the factory, or am I stuck getting one off the lot?

Also, I think I do want the Touring package to be able to get the HIDs, leather, better stereo etc. Coming from the GTI I wouldn't want to miss that stuff.

Any help appreciated! Thanks

Here in Canada they are needles in haystacks and it took me forever to find one. I finally found an 09 sportback (every option like I wanted) with 300 km's on it at a dealership on the other side of the country. I've had the car for 6 days now and love it. Good luck man, it will be worth it if you find one. I love the sportbacks.

Another new member here, I was looking at the sportback but will probably go with the sedan instead because I want to buy new. I couldn't find any new sportbacks around here but there are a number of 2010s for 22-23k.
