RA can easily be swapped with most EvoX parts, many mod parts available, big HP/TQ potential, sleeper....cheaper than an Evo and my Sportback RA hauls around a lot of crap on a day to day basis!

AWD is amazing...especially in a very snowy Canadian winter.

Because of AWD, looks(everytime I drive by big windows and see the car's reflection I smile, because it is damn sexy!!), potential, SST transmission.
When I was deciding I talked to a buddy of mine who worked at a Subaru dealer here in Calgary and he said to not get a WRX because of the engine problems they have!
As for MS3, I owned Mazda 3 Hatch before RA and MS3 has same issues such as noisiness inside! Also trunk space! Surprisingly I can fit A LOT more in my Ra's trunk than I could in Mazda!

If you want a daily driver car, a car that you can travel in and still be comfortable get an RA not an EVO.

BTW where abouts in Alberta are you? If you're in Calgary I can give you a ride and you'll see what I mean.
Yes, I am in Calgary. The car will mostly serve as a daily driver so I guess that is more suited for the RA over the Evo. I'm just trying to get a feel for cars of this type before making the plunge. The MS3, IMO, might be comparable to the RA performance-wise minus AWD, but it's just no were as... exclusive as an RA. RAs have an element of "bada$$ness" to them that's just missing in the MS3/6...

The thing is though, at least once in the life of you're car, you're going to be at a set of lights and a WRX or MS3 is going to pull up beside you and smoke you (unless you're modded), as the 0-60 times are lacking a bit for a car of this type in the RA, no? Numbers for a stock RA vary all over the internet from 5.4 to 6+...

BTW: ukrboy, how much did your RA set you back? Is it dealer bought? Platinum Mitsu I'm assuming?

The thing is, for manual cars to run a "advertised time" is to have no missed shifts and perfect gear selection. But for the rallairt, it's every time

True that... But jesus, 4.7-4.9 seconds to 60?! ...That's almost unbelievable

Geez so many RA's popping up in Calgary now! Used to never see one when I was still there, and now I see Alberta all over this forum.

This is my Ralliart 0-60 (sorry for music lol). Only mods are Bryans free GST basemap, $20 boost pill as far as this video is concerned.
My 1/4 is also at 13.07 @ 104.01 MPH

The car is amazing in looks, the AWD, build potential, torque and just being a convenience as well as a formidable competitor on the track and at the stop lights lol

I really don't hink that MS3 will smoke an RA. It has sooo much torque steering it's unbelievable! I drove both generations. Also, nobody is as fast switching gears as SST tranny. RA is also much more quiet on the highway. Trunk is much bigger.
I also didn't like WRX. I can't even say why.
Also, considering that we have snow 6 months of the year AWD will definitely help you.

Yes, I got mine from Platinum. I can recommend a sales guy there that I dealt with. Really nice guy. Much-much better experience than I had at Stoney Trail Mazda! It cost me 35k And I got Cobb AP for free. The car was a demo and had about 8k on it. It already had 3m chip protection (worth 1200 alone). And they bought my Mazda for 2500 more than a black book value!

Let me know)

For me it was a combination of the dealer giving me top dollar for my '09 Lancer on trade. The fact the RA is AWD for Winnipeg winters, takes well to mods and looks good.

I chose the Ralliart because I couldn't find any used '08 WRXs equipped with an automatic.

I live in the DC-metro area so driving stick can be a pain in traffic. I literally traded in a '09 WRX for my Ralliart last night. This is my first Mitsubishi and hopefully I won't regret it :P

It had what I want (AWD, turbo, hatch, looks) at the price that I was willing to pay.

I went to Hyatt to test drive one, the guy was a major dou***. So pushy for the sale. He quoted me close to 40k (including taxes) for the base (no-recaros), for the orange (which I don't like). I think I will definitely go to Platinum when I buy.

PS: You weren't driving south on Macloed yesterday after the Flames game by any chance were you? I saw a guy in a WW RA with the nose blacked out. Gave the guy a thumbs up lol
