Battery issue?

Last week after work my car would not start. Didn't leave lights on, nothing. No clicking sounds just wouldn't start. All the computers and displays were working. Had it jumped and the car was fine. Today 6 days later.... I just pulled into work. Parked in the garage. Turned off the car. Wanted to readjust because someone parked bad in their spot..... my car wouldn't turn back on...... Bad battery? Bad Alternator? There is no dimming in the lights or anything.... makes no sense.

Huh! Could be any of those ^ and the safety switch. (try to start it in Neutral vs. Park) and a bad FAST key (replace the battery in the 'mote).

Sounds like a trip to the dealer (if under warranty).

^If the remote battery were dead he would get "Key Missing" onthe MID. My guess is that its a bad battery.

Try tapping the solenoid on the starter LIGHTLY with a hammer. If it then turns over, you need a new/re-built starter.

My '11 had a few odd starts in August when it was a few weeks old, it would take two attempts to turn it over. It's fine now.

Ah, this brings back memories. My wife and I owned a heap of junk old Vauxhall Astra when we were living in London. We used to have to take a long metal pipe with us everywhere... and could never drive alone.

To start that thing, one of us had to turn the key, and the other had to whack the starter with the Astra-Starter Pipe!

Yes, we were broke and couldn't afford a new starter, lol.
