Yellow Liquid

I have a buddy who's car is leaking a yellow liquid from the front of the car. I'd attach a picture, but can't seem to find out how to post one from my phone. Long story short...what is it?

Catch can overflowing? Coolant overflow while using water without anti-freeze?

Antifreeze maybe. What does it smell like I can usually tell what my car is leaking by smelling or tasting it

Smells lightly like burnt chemicals. If that makes any sense. By the way I refuse to taste it. Looks like it would kill you with a dab.

Water from the road that's sitting on the underpanel and slowly dripping down?

Brake fluid is can be yellow (especially around snow). New oil is often yellow, as you have described. It is also normal for some cars to leave Neon Yellow stains beneath the exhaust. That is a result of flaky, oxidized metal dripped down with water condensation.

My bet would be oil, if it has been changed recently. Look under the car and try to determine the location of the leak. If it is puddling all in one spot on the under-tray, it should be pretty obvious what is going on. If it was brake fluid, you would know by now.

Even the SSP Gold fluid should leave brown-ish stains (certainly not bright yellow).
