Im Torn!!! HELP!!!!!
i'd take a used GTR any day of the week over the gt500. Personally, I keeping my money for the EVO XI. Diesel hybrid? A car that will commute well and melt faces sounds good to me... plus a whole bunch of other next-gen cars coming out in the next couple of years
To clarify I love in West Texas where there literally are no corners. Also used GTR's are way more expensive and I only have a 70k budget to buy a engagement ring and a car.

lol, I'm glad you prioritized on which purchase gets the bulk of the money. Hey, if you can afford it, why the hell not? The Ford Mustang has come far from what it was before.
Also, consider the STI in there as an option to trade in as well... that shelby is going to have a manual gearbox... might want to keep the other car you have that can shift auto. Just a thought, especially if that future spouse can't drive stick.

Check out the forums. People are having nothing but problems with the new Mustangs. The transmissions are Chinese pieces of crap. Just look around online before making that purchase. If you are willing to take the risk, go for it. Even the new Boss 302 is crapping out on people.
I know someone who might be willing to part with his twin-turbo 2008 Roush Stage 2 Mustang. I can vouch for the car, as that was before Ford started having issues. The brakes are excellent, the steering response is excellent, the suspension is brand new, the motor is flawless. It makes 450/450 on a very conservative tune. That is the car that I would buy.

hahah...
I don't know what percentage of the new stangs are problematic, but i know my buddy's 2011 5.0 just had the entire rear diff replaced already. Granted, it was done under warranty, but he had to take it to the dealer for inspection multiple times before they agreed that there was an issue with the car. The final trip the rear diff was making such an racket there was no way they could claim it was a 'normal sound', or claim that they "could not hear anything" as pedestrians could clearly hear it.
At any rate, if you do get a stang, and plan to tune it, you'll probably want to avoid the 6cylinders, as they have a habit of exploding their drive shafts if you disable the speed limiter (and go faster than the default speed limiter was set to). That is unless you're prepared to replace the drive shaft as a first mod, or leave the OEM limiter in place.

if you have 60k to throw around then go buy a used BMW M3.. Hell, i saw a 2012 Porsche Cayman R with 600miles on it going for 66k when it had Carbon Reinforced brake disc and enough features to make it easily 83k.
I say, if you want it (which you do, you REALLY do...) get it... every car has their problems... (cough... sst... cough). It sounds like you don't need the AWD where you are like some of us and that Shelby is going to be a very cool ride for a very long time...
