Wideband/Cobb DP

Just a quick question for anyone who has the Cobb DP
http://www.cobbtuning.com/Mitsubishi...e-p/552200.htm

I have this DP installed and am just curious if it supports a wideband, as I want to be able to gauge my a/f ratio. I guess I could call Cobb...but then again I have you guys.

Sorry if it is a dumb question haha.

In addition does anyone have this wireless wideband? If so, what are your thoughts?

If there is a second hole drilled in it then yes it will support wideband. If not you can go to a local exhaust shop and have a bung installed. Thats what i did.

Thanks. I'm trying to find the best way to meaure my A/F ratio without adding a gauge. I saw someone on youtube using his Cobb AP, but I can't figure out how that would work, as there doesn't seem to be any supporting info. I know there are iphone options (wifi), but $300+ seems a little much.

the cobb dp does have a second bung ready to go. i have an innovate lc1 wideband on my car, if you dont want the gauge installed you can omit that step and just ue the interface cables to plug into your comp. then on cobbs atr you can pull it up on there

Thanks. So what you are saying is that I can buy a wideband like the lc1...not install the gauge and just log A/F with my laptop through the interface cables?? Sorry, I am new to the wideband world. I just don't like extra guages and was to keep a stock look.

yes sir the gauge is for show, the processing happens in the module that the sensor. i installed mine and ran it through the same hole the stock front one came through. its super simple and the computer interfaces through a db9 plug i think and i got a usb adapter. and cobb atr has a database of wide bands just do your homework to make sure you get the best one. i paid 160 ish i think for mine

Thanks a lot, although I need to see it to understand it haha. I will probably go with Innovative, but I would rather be able to log with a hand held device (i.e., phone, Cobb AP) as opposed to a laptop...just for convenience. I mat have to settle for the laptop though.

right on yeah the cobb ap only logs obd2 connections. to be honest you wont have the laptop in their all the time, only when your making maps or checking up on your rides health

So I'm looking to pick up the LC-1 as well (I think), but it says that it comes with a serial cable to connect to the PC (whatever that is). Where did you get your usb adapter from and was that a big deal? Will the LC-1 plug directly in the PC as is or do I have to have a usb adapter? Sorry for the silly questions, but I have been hung up on my wideband decision for FAR too long.

I have the LC-1 wideband and DB Blue gauge. I would recommend using the gauge because it not just for show. It there to tell you if your running to rich or lean. You don't want to be running lean during WOT. The usb adapter is a serial to usb, since most laptop now don't have a serial port your going to need the adapter. I have a Keyspan serial to usb adapter which is around 35shipped.

finding the adapter was no big deal. i found it on amazon and you will need it to be able to pull data. As far as needing the gauge or not, i didnt use mine for a lttle while i checked my afr initially woth the comp and went from there since i wasnt changing my tune. the afr wasnt going to change any time soon, even with weather influencing whats being put into the intake.
