Tow hook

As I track my car, I thought I would ask about tow hooks before I have an incident with the Ralliart were I 'mow the lawn/go agricultural'.

Are there any good aftermarket hooks available?

So far I have seen ones for car with single exhausts, and I still have the stock muffler.

There are factory-installed tow hooks in the rear of the RA, one on either side of the rear unibody frame.

The front is a bit more of a pain, which is why the JDM crash beam is a good choice so you can install a tow hook through that square cutout that is already in your front bumper center section.

Thanks. I didn't know if someone had come up with a cleaver solution for the front. I will look into the JDM crash beam.

They lied to you, sir. There IS a way to order it, but it takes a little effort on their behalf.

They will need to talk to their international PDC (parts distribution center) contact and have it special ordered. The part will likely need to be 100% pre-paid and there will be absolutely no returns unless item arrives damaged.

Also, expect a 3-4 week wait time from date of purchase for your part to arrive as it has to be shipped by boat from Japan and then transported normally with the dealership's stock order from California. The good thing about doing it this way (versus ordering through an aftermarket company with contacts in Japan) is that there should be NO additional shipping charge, even though it is coming from Japan, because it will arrive on a normal stock order along with any other parts the dealership would normally receive.

I believe the guy to talk to is currently located in Washington, but I could be mistaken. In any case, if you find a parts person willing to put a little effort into it, they can make it happen, they'll just need to call around.

optionally, you can order one from japanparts dot com. Though, it'll probably cost you a couple of fingers in shipping.
