tunes for exhaust

Has anybody had a problem with the ultimate racing 3" long downpipe and 3" resinated test pipe effecting the cars performance? Is it best to do a tune after installing them?

I went from a oem evo x dp to ur downpipe w/ test pipe and just noticed it felt smoother at the top end because it wasnt as restricted.

The question is are you noticing problems?

Thanks for the reply! I'm just trying to find a good upgrade for my downpipe and cat! I would to purchase this one but I've heard you need a tune if you install. Just wondering how your car turned out with it

To each his own on this one, some people will say anytime you modify your car you should to it to compensate.

My personal belief is that you should be fine when you upgrade your exhaust and not need a re-tune. Ive upgraded my exhuast 2-3 times already and not gotten tuned right away and it was fine. The exhuast deals with backpressure and the most you might notice is different exhaust sounds or on start-up a delay because it needs to build backpressure (espically if 3' full exhuast)

Hope that helps

My opinion is that if go from the stock Cat to a High Flow Cat or test pipe, then you need to get retuned. If you're just changing out the downpipe, midpipe, and/or rear portion of the exhaust system you shouldn't need to change the tune. Feel free to correct me if you have evidence to the contrary....

Full turbo-back exhaust on stock tune? You should at least check your air/fuel mixtures and boost levels.

As per birth control... "Hope is Not a Method".
