Holy good gas mileage!

Was in Closter, NJ today, filled up a full tank. Went up to the Catskills (Phonecia), down to New Paltz for dinner, and refilled in Old Bridge NJ.

On the way up, I was averaging a hair under 75 on the thruway, AC on. Light traffic and I always maintained ~8-10 car lengths behind someone. The in-car MPG said 23.8 mpg. On the way down (the Catskills is at a higher elevation), I was averaging about 70 on the thruway, no AC, and maybe 4-5 car lengths (tighter traffic). The in-car MPG by the time I got to NJ said 29.2 mpg.

Total distance: 260 miles. Refilled the tank with $35 of gas at $3.80/gal.

28.2 mpg!!

More MPG's for me = more $$$ for

Brio's in Phonecia? The Guilded Otter in New Paltz? Great places to eat and great roads to drive! I need to get up that way sometime soon!

My personal best is 27.1 from Atlantic City to New York City. On my daily commute I can do about 23.

Nah I went to the taco shack, got the big bag, 10 tacos for 12 bucks haha.

Those places look pretty good. I'll have to check em out next time I'm up there. I go up to the catkskills every weekend.

I don't know how you guys normally get that much. I normally get like, 23-24mpg going up to the catskills.

Might've been a fluke. I attribute it to my ACD pump going out and maybe having less drag on the system.

My record is 7.4l/100km (32MPG) for mostly highway and a bit of late night city driving. At the time I only had 15 litres left in the tank to get me home 100 km away. I still had 8 left when I got to my gas station. I guess I tried a bit too hard.

I got 30.1 once last June. About 30 miles on mostly back roads. Hit 2 red lights but my average cruising speed was probably 45 mph. It was also 95 degrees that day so I don't know how much that affects things.

Good to see upgraded RA's with more power still running with good gas mileage.

Is it possible for a 300+hp/tq RA to get these mpg (23-25+)?
