Attention Alberta Ralliart Drivers!
i used to live in edmonton... i highly suggest if you don't want your car to look like an acne prone teenagers face you get alot of 3M (since mitsu paint is ****) on that car especially on the dog legs, a pillars, side mirrors, bumper, the entire hood, front fenders and maybe even a strip on the front of the roof... thats where all my rock chips are
the road debris up there has chipped the hell out of my paint, and i only had my RA there for part of one winter with a couple road trips
3M even has a spray on film now, look into it

I am from Calgary and I have e white 2012 Ralliart. Our cars are rather popular in town, I've seen lots.
Never had too much trouble with rock chips in the year of owning the car, but I do have a lot of 3M...

Just lost the feature of tarmac, snow and gravel mode plus the annoying awd light. Thank god acd-tuning offers the rebuild kit around $250-$500 incl shipping. I'm just not sure if Platinum Mitsu offers this now. Spoke to them before and they said they're planning to offer the rebuild kit for acd pump ranging from $800 incl labor.

I just got a 2011 Ralliart, I have had it for 3 months now. Im loving it, but living in Edmonton robyn402 said I got rock chips like you wouldnt believe. Its a pain to try and keep it pristine with the ****ty roads Edmonton has to offer.
Yeah I put the 3M on, and it did help some. But one weird place that has really gotten beat-up and shows, especially since my Ralliart is red, its the back lip of the hood scoop. For some reason, rocks seem to be magnetically pulled there - so if you put the 3M sticker or spray on, make sure you get that little section done.
A warning for fellow Alberta drivers who are getting their Ralliarts serviced at Platinum Mitsubishi in Calgary - be careful what they charge you because that place just loves bloating the regular services on our cars with unnecessary work. Today I went for basic oil change at 15 000 km, but after they were finished I found they had done a "fuel kit flush treatment" that's not on the car's maintenance manual at all. Naturally, they didn't ask me about it at all when they took the car and just presented me with a $242 bill at the end. Moreover, they will also always assume that your car is being serviced under the "severe" schedule and even set the timer to 2.5 months between services just to be a little more annoying.

Well, afterwards I called them and they put the extra bs as credit on my account. I'll use it to get a few OEM oil filters from their parts department and then I'll just bring my car elsewhere for anything except warranty work or a transmission fluid change. I'm sure the thousands of dollars I won't pay them in the future and the negative comments online will totally make the extra $70 worthwhile for them.
Even without the "fuel kit flush", they are massively overpriced. A service even for a basic Lancer is about $160 (I used to pay $50-80 for my Mazda 3 at the Mazda dealership). For some reason these guys think they can charge as much a Mercedes dealership, even though they sell economy cars...

It is only simple if you have your own garage or driveway and enough spare time. Also, the process is a bit messy and it's a lot of hassle to dispose of the old oil. There's also the matter of the vehicle's warranty - to honor it, most places want proof that the scheduled car maintenance is being done on a regular basis.
I'll just bring the car to my mechanic instead of the dealership and call it a day.
Then I won't have to also pay them for the amazing service of rotating my tires when not needed, a half-assed car wash, that fuel kit flush bs, and the pleasure of knowing that my brand new car is still in a "great shape" and all of its lights are working.
