Where to get HID's? Modding question as well

With getting my tax money back I'm looking to get some HID's for my ralliart, what is the best place I can to get them?

Also, after having told myself I would not get into the modding of my ralliart, I'm feeling the urge to do it. I got really frustrated with my previous car (06 cobalt SS/SC) and it ended up having problem after problem before I just dumped it and bought the Ralliart. My question here is, if I were to get into modding it I don't want to go overboard, maybe put down around 300 whp. So what would be the best and cheapest way to get that? Pardon my ignorance I've only worked on a superchargers as far as Forced Induction and just scratching on learning about turbo's.

Do you want oem or aftermarket HIDS? If oem, its going to cost quite a bit. Aftermarket you can get a bixenon hid kit for around 300 and retrofit it in. Theres a website "theretrofitsource" or something like that and the guys there are really helpful. I emailed them like 20 questions and he answered them all and broke everything down really well for me to understand. Mods that most people do are catback, boost controller, uicp and tune. A few things here and there also, I come from an evo background so I'm not sure if the UICP is necessary for your vehicle.

As far as the 300whp goes, you pretty much have to change the turbo to see that mark. For reference, I had upgraded my intercooler, uicp, licp, intake, exhaust, bypass valve, and boost control solenoid with a tune and ended up at around 240 whp . I then installed the rad lite turbo, high flow cat, and downpipe with another tune and put down just over 300 whp. You can always go the Evo X turbo route which basically will give the same gains as the Rad lite but will leave things open to upgrade that turbo to a larger Evo X as where the Rad lite is the highest upgrade with that turbo.

Thank you, I emailed retrofit source. I'm probably looking at aftermarket HIDs, as I don't want to spend too much and 300 sounds about where I was expecting to spend.

Just did some research on the rad lite and that looks like maybe where I'm going to go if I do decide to mod. Did you do your own tuning or did you take it somewhere?

I know a couple of RA's in the Seattle area that are hitting 275hp after a tune on stock RA Turbo, Evo X ic and pipes, aftermarket intake and grim-speed 3 port boost controller. After they upgraded to a EvoX turbo and manifold they were hitting 350hp.. the SST Clutch-packs would need to be upgraded after that if you wanted to go higher.

Took it to a really reputable tuner here in the Midwest, Boostin Performance. I had him install my intake and Grimmspeed three port solenoid as a tune is necessary immediately after install. My advice to you is if youre going to upgrade the turbo, do everything at once. I didnt and I ended up paying to go to the tuner twice because I waited to do the turbo. Contact CBRD if youre interested in the turbo as I know they are doing an upgrade to the turbo and are building a manifold also for this turbo, which isnt necessary though.

I'm thinking of just making it a weekend and going to cbrd late summer and having them do the install/tune. Only about 4 hour drive from where I live and I can have enough to just get everything done in one swoop
