It has the look of a ralliart but cheaper with no turbo.
The GT AWD also lacks the ACD in it's AWD system, doesn't it? That would make it's performance in snow more similar to an Impreza than a Ralliart. Still good, but not as awesome

You pay what you get. That is why EVO is so good on snow.

If your commute is only 10 mins, mpg is not you concern at all.

Even though it already sounds like you've possibly been convinced to go with the Ralliart, I would suggest test driving one. I say this because of your concern with the transmission. For me, I was only interested in a manual until I discovered the SST. Now I don't want any other transmission. I know everyone has different interests and reasons for wanting a manual, but my reason was control over the car. For me, the SST is perfect because it gives me that control I want, and I don't have to deal with a clutch pedal in traffic, not to mention the fact that it's way faster at shifting than a manual. I think if you test drive the SST in manual sport mode, you will be happy with it.

Nice to see another person who agrees with how awesome the SST is

Took me 5 minutes of test driving then I looked at the dealer and told him SOLD

I honestly couldn't believe how fast it was myself. I had test driven a few "shiftable automatics" before, and was anticipating something similar in this "automated manual", maybe a little faster. I quickly realized that the two are completely different, and the SST is a manual, minus the inconvenience (at times) of a clutch pedal, plus the bonus of being able to shift for you if you need a free hand. Also a big plus that you don't have to stop accelerating when shifting gears!

There is not a GT AWC in the states, only in canada. We have the SE AWC which looks like an ES and then we have the GT which is the same thing as the GTS but with the RA front bumper

Ah good point, I always thought the GT was AWD here in the states but after looking at their website it is not. That makes the GT much less appealing.
