RA Sportback wing mirror failure.

Car is a 2011 Ralliart Sportback, 5 months out of the 3 yr standard warranty and only 16k on the clock, not a daily, everyday drive.
Used maybe once-twice a week but usually longish trips, kept in a garage.
This morning I unlocked and the wing mirrors opened, to reverse out of the garage I use the button on the window switches to close the mirrors so they don't catch on the garage door stays. Didn't close on the driver's side ! Tried a couple of more open/close but no joy so eased it closed on the close cycle.
Won't open either, have to push it on the open cycle. Motor whirrs away OK but when open the mirror feels 'floppy' and does move a little in the wind when driving.
I assume that there is a very cheap and nasty plastic cog/pin movement inside that has snapped or stripped and so no action.
Does any one know if the unit can be stripped down and if bit parts are available or am I stuck with having to find a whole new unit ? I assume it is the same mirror unit as an X.
Not happy to say the least.
Car is a UK/EU model but I expect that the mirror assembly is the same as the US models and driver's side is the righthand side !!
Thanks
Brian.

I don't think US cars get motorized mirrors (power mirrors yes, but not ones that fold at the touch of a button). At least I have not seen this option.
