ralliart stays on even after keys are out

it started doing this about a month after i did the relay upgrade, not sure if its related. Even when i stop and pull the keys out, it will just sit there idling. its not until i touch the brake until the car turns off. wierd.

Sounds like something from a previously installed remote start??

Just curious why are you using your key to start the car ? Or does your car not have the keyless system ?

Highly doubt it was the relay upgrade. Let us know what you find.

when i bought the car it does have a remote start, I'm looking more into it. Its weird because I have owned the car now for almost a year and its just started this. My car does not have the fast key, i guess you would have to pay more for it here in canada?

Maybe a wire has come slightly loose or touching something else all of a sudden...

well its confirmed. My car starter no longer works. I can open and close the doors but the starter itself won't work. And that issue with the car staying on is now gone as well.

It sounds like a nother FOB is hidden in the car somewhere. I am an installer and know that the EVO and Ralliart have to give up a key for the remote start to properly work. We are getting ready to do one on my Ralliart soon and I will have to do the same thing. We are researching though because with a FOB hidden, the doors can still be unlocked and my car can be driven off. Let me know what you find out. Look and see what remote start is in it and I may be able to help you figure it out.

Its a compustar. Apparently you have to reset the car starter everytime you pull the battery. I had to turn the keys on and off five times and hit the lock button. Now it works again.

Did you have to give up a FOB and key with the Compustar? There is a bypass that you can buy from them that eliminates the need for this. I work as an installer part time for Best Buy and used to also own my own car audio install shop for over 15 years. If you need any help figuring out any of it, let me know. Our Lead Installer is Master Certified in MECP and even puts me to shame with my knowledge. We call him the mad scientist at work.
