GFB Mach 2 BOV

Hi!

Is anyone else using this BOV? What pre-load are you running and how did you set it? What mods are you running?

I am currently experimenting with mine, trying to follow the GFB manual, although I find it difficult to distinguish any flutter or if there even is any at the hardest spring pre-load.

I think I can "feel" a difference in the time the turbo takes to spool up when I let off the gas and apply it again at 3-4k rpm, but I don't like this feel-based approach as it seems very subjective...

Edit: this was a very useful thread on the subject: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...ov-197771.html

The best BPV for our cars on the market right now is the Tial QRJ with the proper spring. They don't like VTA and prefer recirculating especially if you're untuned

lol, "best"

I would bet you any aftermarket BOV with the proper spring adjustment (and tune if VTA) would perform exactly the same so long as it can guarantee it stays shut under WOT. Definately agree with you on the recirc. stuff tho, no need for VTA

One of the top RA/SST tuners here in the states (Wasatch Turbo Factory) had done tests on multiple BPVs with different spring rates and found that the QRJ had the highest reliability rate of them. Others were more prone to seizing such as Turbosmart and I believe something about Synapse quality isnt quite what it used to be. Thats based on their analysis anyway.

I have the gfb respoons.
I have it recirculating about 85-90%.

I followed the instructions and watched
. (on our cars it helps to have a second person in the car)

No problems, been on the car for over a year now.
