It shouldn't have to be cleared out. Once you turn off the car it should save it as a stored code, but the light should be off once it sees a matching rolling radius via the wheel-speed sensors. If your light is coming on again, it's likely due to something else. My guess would be the acd pump.

he said the acd light came on not the awd maintenance light...go to the dealer...your pump is probably fried

What are the chances of this happening because of the two new tires? I just had two new ones put on the front due to my accident..

These things are known for blowing through those pumps, unfortunately. I'm on my second pump right now, and I think it's shot since I've started getting the light again.

man i hope it's not the pump cuz people on this board is saying it's expensive and Mitsubishi won't warranty is under the powertrain warranty (only one guy got it replaced under warranty but he's up in Canada)....what are the chances that the pump failed approx. the same time I replaced 2 of my tires? I wonder if having the mismatched diameter of the tires cuz my differential to work harder and caused the pump to fail...

You'd be fine. As long as the tire difference isn't too significant. I do these kinda things all the time.
