How would you describe the upgrade on the rear swaybar as oppose to putting the ride on coils from a performance/handling point of view? Would you recommend one before the other?

I have not upgraded my rear sway bar yet.. possibly next mod.
I have coil-overs and could tell the difference, before just making quick lane changes on the Hwy at 65-80 mph this car would have way to much body roll to the point of feeling unsafe.
lowering the car 1.5-2" with stiffer spring does help but i still have a little more body roll then I would like.

If your trying to save $ it's still cheaper to just get swift springs and a rear sway bar upgraded than a full set of coil-overs. But the stock struts may need to be replaced shortly after end end up costing you about the same as a full set of entry lvl coil-overs.

You can save $ either way you go by buying from dealers on this forum in the Lancer and Evo X vendor threads.

I'm looking to save money but I'm also looking to take the best route for the car. I'm thinking I should get the rear swaybar upgrade right now and then put it on coils after.. or would you guys recommend the other way around?

Also the situation that you described, wouldn't the rear swaybar upgrade help exactly with that?

So I did some more research into the sway bar situation and it seems that upgrading only the rear one for the RA is not recommended. i.e. if you are gonna do it, do both front and rear at the same time to maintain the proper distribution. Would guys agree with this?

Now if this is the case I might as well get stage 1 coils first and then look to see if I want to upgrade my sway bars, since I'm currently running stock suspension. What brand you guys recommend from experience here for the RA? I was thinking of going with HSD, they seem to be well made, no warranty issues, great performance and not much of a sacrifice on ride comfort.

I have both front and rear sway bars. The rear sway bar made a huge difference and then few months I installed the front and love my current setup and both front and back is medium. I have BC Coilovers with swift springs 8k front and rear, set at 15 from soft to hard on all the Coilovers and I love it as a daily driver. When I had the BC springs in them I did not like as much but love the swift springs. I have no issues with it as a daily driver but I can say the drive feels sporty and I love it. Family has no issues. My 4yr old loves it and grandma and grandpa don't complain either.

if you already have the coilovers:

If you don't already have the coilovers, you can have the springs upgraded to Swift when you order the coilovers.

I'd recommend Fortune Auto 500 series myself. Swift spring option and I would highly recommend the radial bearing mount option for your car to prevent the front springs from binding.

Get either fortune or BC racing. Amazing coils for the price. Get them with swift springs.

Is there no option for HSD with swift springs?

I'm not sure on the other Coilovers. Just that most people use either fortune or BC on the ralliart. That article did not help much as they say good things about all 3 but recommend u get swift spring with any Coilovers u get. I totally agree. For me the BC has a sports feel to them. My car never bottoms out even with 5 people in it but u will feel some bumps and things like that. They are not harsh but u do feel when u go over them, my son loves when I go over certain bumps and I'm not talking about holes in the ground. I try to avoid those at all cost. Going over speed bumps are nice and smooth.

I'm not sure about this but I have heard that HSD are really good for everyday ride quality because when you go over bumps or potholes or uneven road it has a calibration system that self adjusts quickly preparing you for the road ahead and allowing for a smooth street ride.

Fortune 500 is obviously very well known and considered top of the line for the price range.
